I've had various blogs in the past. Since they weren't high-traffic sites, I never had a problem with trolls, rude commenters, flame wars, or anything of that sort. The few commenters I had were polite and thought-provoking -- just what one wants in a commenter. Consequently, I've never deleted a comment (other than duplicates) and have never banned anyone from commenting.
That said, I reserve the right to delete comments and ban commenters if they are detracting from the polite and thought-provoking environment I hope to create here.
Finally, if you have a blog and have a substantive comment on something I've posted here, then I encourage you to comment in a post on your blog. That may better serve us both.
